About Cody
My husband Larry and I live in Weare and I have a six year old stepson Tyler and our 9 month old son Nathan. I work for a mortgage lender in Manchester and my husband teaches 4th grade in Weare. I have not run a road race in years, and after having my son last summer I'm a bit of a couch potato! When I first heard Giovanni's story I was very sympathetic to his plight and the family's situation. My son was born premature and we were familiar with the long drives to Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon to make sure that every day our child saw a family member- and I knew that Giovanni was surrounded by his family, and how tough that is to accomplish when you have a house to keep up, other children and even the financial hardship involved. As the doctors figured out that Giovanni had NEMO and that bone marrow donors were needed, I just knew that my reading the website everyday and praying for Giovanni and his family was not nearly enough- so I decided after reading about the woman who was running the Boston Marathon that I could run a half marathon and use that as a way to tell everyone I could that they needed to go to a drive and be tested in the hopes of finding a match for not only Giovanni but other children that are waiting. I am asking everyone I can to go to a bone marrow drive to be tested, and to pledge their support for my running this race in honor of Giovanni Guglielmo-
